Dollhouse Episode 12
May. 12th, 2009 09:18 pmI'm not sure how I feel about this episode. Some parts of it were awesome, and others kind of annoyed me.
I loved Echo's composite event and how she didn't go crazy like Alpha. He was crazy to begin with, but Echo/Caroline wasn't. I think Ballard was correct in his summation that their souls really were there. The conversation between Echo and Caroline was interesting too, I think Caroline struck me as a person who made her bed. She knew what she was getting into, she had no illusions and she was prepared to return to it because she signed a contract.
I loved the Sierra imprint and how she was hitting on Agent Ballard, especially his reaction to it, and how he freaked out when November came into the room. And Topher with his crazy "Why is there a tall judgemental man in here who's not you" to Boyd was so cute. I loved Whiskey/Dr Saunders question to him at the end "Why did you have to make me hate you" It opens a very interesting quandry. Why did he make Whiskey into Dr Saunders the way he did? And what will they do with Victor now?
Joss Whedon apparently had a five year plan for this, but it looks as though this is all it's getting, so will he resort to comics to tell the story? I'd like to see things through to the end, but with comics it's easy to drag things on well past the time when they should end.
I'm curious to see how Ballard works for the Dollhouse. Is he meant to be another Boyd. Doesn't really approve of what the Dollhouse does but would prefer to fight from within the system. To be there at least to mitigate what they do?
Gah I'm just left with so many questions now!

Between that and the scars that Dr. Saunders has, it will be a never ending, always in his face reminder of what happened when Alpha went postal because of a very much botched imprint.

Date: 2009-05-13 01:16 am (UTC)It would be nice to know if there was a reason why they obsess about her, but I think it's probably just that she fit the type of victim Alpha liked, and for Paul it was the video. She was the first real victim of the Dollhouse so he fixated on saving her as being part of bringing down the Dollhouse
